Surviving Rhino Piercing: Stories from Those Who’ve Been Through It

Rhino piercing is a daring and unique form of body modification that’s not for the faint of heart. The piercing can be quite painful, and the healing process requires dedication and perseverance. To truly understand what it’s like to go through this experience, it’s essential to hear from people who have braved the journey.

From the initial piercing to the months of healing and aftercare, rhino piercing demands both physical and mental strength. However, for those who embrace the challenge, the reward is a one-of-a-kind look that reflects their individuality and style.

Enter Jake, a 28-year-old graphic designer from Austin, Texas, known for his bold fashion choices and love for body art. With several piercings and tattoos under his belt, Jake recently decided to take the plunge and get a rhino piercing – his most unique and daring body modification yet. We had the opportunity to sit down with Jake and learn more about his rhino piercing experience, the healing process, and any advice he might have for those considering this fascinating form of self-expression.

Hey Jake, thanks for joining us today! To start, can you tell us what inspired you to get a rhino piercing?

Jake: Hey, happy to be here! I’ve always been into piercings and tattoos, and I wanted something that would make me stand out even more. I stumbled across the rhino piercing online and instantly fell in love with how unique and edgy it looked.

That’s awesome! So, how did you find an experienced piercer for your rhino piercing, given that it’s a rare type of nose piercing?

Jake: I did a lot of research and called several piercing studios in my area, asking if they had experience with rhino piercings. I finally found a highly recommended piercer who had done several rhino piercings before, and we set up an appointment to discuss the procedure and any concerns I had.

It’s great that you took the time to find an expert. What was the actual piercing process like for you, and how did it compare to your other piercings in terms of pain?

Jake: The rhino piercing was definitely more intense than my other piercings. It went through more tissue, and the procedure took a bit longer. I’d say the pain was about a 7 out of 10, but it was over relatively quickly, and my piercer was very professional and reassuring throughout the process.

I can imagine it was quite an experience. How has the healing process been for your rhino piercing, and can you share any aftercare tips that have worked well for you?

Jake: The healing process has been pretty smooth so far. My piercer provided me with detailed aftercare instructions, which I’ve been following religiously. I clean the piercing with a saline solution twice a day and avoid touching it with dirty hands. I’ve also been extra cautious about not bumping it or getting it caught on anything.

It’s great to hear that you’re taking good care of your piercing. Now that you’ve had your rhino piercing for a while, have you experimented with different types of jewelry or considered getting any other unique piercings?

Jake: I haven’t changed the jewelry yet, as I want to make sure it’s fully healed before doing so. But I’m definitely excited to try out different styles, like curved barbells with gemstones or opals. As for other unique piercings, I’m always open to new ideas, so who knows what I might get in the future!

That sounds exciting! So Jake, besides body art, what other hobbies or interests do you have in your free time?

Jake: I’m a big fan of outdoor activities, especially hiking and mountain biking. I also love exploring the local art scene here in Austin and attending music festivals. It’s such a vibrant city with so much to offer!

That sounds lovely. Speaking of which, do you think your rhino piercing has had any impact on your work as a graphic designer or your interactions with clients?

Jake: Honestly, it hasn’t had any negative impact on my work. If anything, it’s been a conversation starter with some clients who are intrigued by it. I think it showcases my creativity and willingness to take risks, which are essential qualities in the design world.

That’s a great point! So, outside of work, have you had any funny or memorable encounters because of your rhino piercing?

Jake: Haha, yeah! I’ve had a few people come up to me, asking if it hurt or how I came up with the idea. Once, someone even thought it was a cool magnetic attachment and not an actual piercing! It’s always interesting to see how people react to it.

That’s quite amusing! Have you ever considered getting a piercing together with a friend or loved one as a bonding experience?

Jake: That’s an interesting idea! I’ve never done it before, but I think it could be a fun and unique way to share an experience with someone close to me. Maybe we could get matching piercings or something that has a special meaning for both of us.

That would be quite special indeed. Well, Jake, it’s been great learning more about your rhino piercing journey. Lastly, do you have any advice for people considering a rhino piercing?

Jake: Absolutely! First and foremost, do your research and find an experienced piercer who specializes in rhino piercings. Be prepared for a bit more pain than a regular nose piercing, but remember that it’s temporary. Follow your piercer’s aftercare instructions to the letter and be patient with the healing process. And most importantly, enjoy your unique and eye-catching new piercing!

Thank you so much, Jake, for sharing your rhino piercing experience with us. We appreciate your time and insight!

Jake: You’re welcome! I enjoyed talking about it, and I hope it provided some insight for those considering a rhino piercing.
