Hey Liam, thanks for joining us today! To start off, what made you decide to get a tongue web piercing?

Liam: Hey! I’ve always been fascinated by body piercings, and I wanted something unique and less common. I also needed a piercing that I could easily hide for work purposes. After doing some research, I found out about tongue web piercings and was instantly intrigued by their discreet yet edgy appearance.

Liam: Honestly, it wasn’t as painful as I thought it would be. The frenulum has fewer nerve endings, so it was a quick and relatively painless process. However, I understand that everyone’s pain tolerance is different, so it might be more challenging for some people.

Great to hear! Can you tell us about the healing process? How long did it take for your piercing to heal, and did you encounter any complications?

Liam: My tongue web piercing took about 6 weeks to heal completely. I followed my piercer’s aftercare instructions carefully, which included rinsing my mouth with a saline solution after eating, drinking, or smoking, and avoiding spicy foods and alcohol. I didn’t have any complications, but I made sure to keep an eye on it and would have reached out to my piercer if I had noticed any signs of infection.

That sounds like a smooth healing process! What type of jewelry do you currently have in your tongue web piercing?

Liam: I chose a small curved barbell for my tongue web piercing. My piercer recommended it because it sits comfortably in the piercing and can be easily adjusted as needed. I really like the way it looks and feels, so I’m happy with my choice.

What kind of reactions have you received from friends, family, and coworkers about your tongue web piercing?

Liam: Most people don’t even notice it unless I show them or they see it while I’m talking or laughing. The reactions have been pretty positive, with some people finding it interesting and unique. My coworkers have been cool about it since it’s easy to hide and doesn’t affect my professional appearance.

Did you face any challenges at work because of your tongue web piercing?

Liam: Luckily, my workplace is pretty accepting of body modifications, as long as they’re not too visible or distracting. Since my tongue web piercing is easy to hide, I haven’t faced any issues at work. I’ve even had a few conversations with coworkers about it, and they’ve been intrigued by the concept. It’s been a great conversation starter and a way to connect with others who share similar interests in tattoos or even body piercings.

Do you have any advice for people who want to get pierced but are worried about the reactions from their friends and family?

Liam: I think it’s essential to have open and honest conversations with the people in your life about your interest in body modifications. Address their concerns and provide them with information about the safety and procedure of the piercings you’re considering. Also, remember that it’s your body, and you have the right to express yourself in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident. As long as you’re making informed decisions and taking care of your piercings properly, the opinions of others should not hold you back.

Do you have any other piercings, or is this your first one?

Liam: I actually have a few other piercings, including my earlobes, a septum piercing, and a helix piercing on my left ear. I’ve always enjoyed experimenting with different types of piercings to express my individuality and showcase my personal style. Each piercing has a unique story behind it and represents a different aspect of my personality.

That’s cool! Are you planning on getting any more piercings in the future?

Liam: I’m always open to the idea of getting more piercings, but for now, I’m pretty satisfied with the ones I have. I might consider getting a dermal anchor or a surface piercing down the line, though. I’ve also been curious about conch piercings and how they would look on me. So, who knows? Maybe I’ll add a few more to my collection in the future!

Liam: I would definitely recommend tongue web piercings to those who want a unique and discreet form of self-expression. However, I would also advise them to do their research, find a reputable piercer, and be prepared to commit to the proper aftercare.
